The general shape of this target is based on a United States military E-Type paper target beloved by soldiers and Marines in WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam, but with the unique combination of a double-hinged interior 3/8 inch plate and an external frame optimized for .338 bullet weights and the demanding nature of that high-velocity round. It should be noted that this target/swing plate combination is specifically designed for the 300 Grain Sierra MatchKing round. Other high-velocity ammo can be shot at it, but may not elicit the same smooth opening and closing action of the target’s relatively heavy swing plate. For example, when this target was tested using 22-250 Remington, various loads of 5.56 & 7.62x51, .30-06 and .300 Win Mag, with those rounds it requires more precision to hit the outer half of the swing plate to make it reset.
